Is it possible to rig this model and animate it?

Hi,

I’m quite new to Blender. I’m trying to use Blender models for a hobby game project. This is a test model for my game. It is made of different boxes. I tried to rig and animate it but I couldn’t animate it. I’m using Blender 2.49b.

I tried the first option given my motionblurp.

If you want to parent an entire object without vertex grouping or weight painting, then use this steps:

  1. Select the armature and activate the “Pose Mode”.
  2. Select the object you want to be the child and then shift-select the bone you want to be the parent.
  3. Use CTRL-PKEY and then “bone” to parent them.

Can anyone help me with it? I have attached the blend file.

If you want to use bones, you need to create an armature first. I also see that each cube is an object for itself, but i “joined” them to one. Then i selected the mesh and the armature and pressed Ctrl+P and selected “Make parent to Armature” and “Create from Bone heat”. See the attached blend file.

How did you join them into one?

I tried to use bones with separate cubes and it works. Do I have to join them?
