Imagine a rubberband, you have it in your hands and as you roll it with your fingers the inside pops to the outside and vice versa… is there a way to do with with “toroidal” meshes in Blender? I know I can go in and roll each individual bone after properly weighting them and get a mild aproximation, but I was hoping there was a better way that someone knew of…
If I understand you correctly you are looking for twist in the simple deform modifier.
I tried it, it resulted in the entire toroidal mesh twisting around one axis rather than having a torroidal axis… Maybe I just hadn’t set it up properly… I tried curve deform as well… Maybe I’m just not experienced enough with these tools to get the desired result. I remodeled it anyway which was what I was trying to avoid with the upward face of the “toroidal mesh” (it was an ouroboros) facing outward instead of up (so I can wrap it around a pillar)…
