is there a material shader guide?

I would like to learn more about procedural textures and creating mental ray textures. anybody know of any tutorials or a manual on how I can learn this? thanks for any replies in advance.

So, you’re asking about procedural texturing in Cycles? Or does that part of your sentence refer to MentalRay, too?

Not sure how helpful asking about MentalRay in a Blender community is going to be. Maybe you should rather ask about that in an Autodesk forum?

I guess I have not kept current on external renderers. sorry about that. :confused: of course, just because it’s old, doesn’t mean you can’t run it.
