Is there a way to animate in polar coordinates?

I want to rotate objects about a central axis while increasing the angular velocity and decreasing the radius.


No example supplied with your post so have to guess what is in your mind!

Cube keyframed to move towards the empty
Empty having keyframed rotation. In this case the rotation mode interpolation set to exponential

Adjust the rotation and cube movement speeds in the graph editor
