Is there a way to increase the visibility of the grid?

Is there a way to increase the visibility of the grid? Make the grid color OR the background color a different color… that way the grid stands out a little bit more… when I am double checking proportions I have to squint a bit, and double check.

You can change the colour of many interface components in the User Preferences panel under Themes.
