Say for example I’m animating a camera motion and an empty that works has the camera target/focal point, I’d like to be able to link those keyframes together so i can make sure I select all of them to be able to move them around. Something like vertex groups, but for keyframes. Or actions but that control multiple objects. Is that possible?
In the dope sheet click the selected button and then select the objects you want to move. It is the arrow like icon next to the words key on your header. It will then just show selected items.
I guess that would be the simplest way currently, but I’d like it if there was a way to link keyframes of different objects so they always moved together.
One way to do this is to have all the animation on bones in an armature, which has bones to which the camera and focal point are parented. Then you have everything on a single object, with easily moved keyframes, and easy to use for NLA work.
I did think that, using a camera rig, but it’s still limited if for example I want to tie a camera motion to the motion of another object.
No worries, i think it’s not something that’s possible, and if i think about how I’d like it to work, there are a few things I can’t figure out how they might happen.
