Lets say I have a classroom scene and the scene is full of objects that react to gravity in the blender game engine. If I wanted to do a scene where the room flips upside down and all the furniture, bags, pencils, paper etc… fall on the roof. How would I do that? Would I actually have to animate it or could I use the game engine?
I tried using key frames on the time line to flip a cube and it didn’t work, so I guess I cant use the game engine or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for your time.

Would it not be extremely tedious to animate each object ?

You are doing something wrong but without you showing your blend file what that specific error is will be unknown
Can you make the force of gravity negative (globally or per object)?
The game engine will help. If you want the room to flip then, a few seconds later, the chairs, ect. fall, keyframe the amount of the objects to none before the flip, and then keyframe the gravity to regular (or more depending on if you want a quicker fall). To make the game engine insert keyframes for animations, go to the top menu while in the game engine and select record keyframes (sorry I forgot the exact place).
