Is there any Icarus succesor ?

I wonder if there is still any software (GPL even ?) that can do geometry recosntruction from an image to let me do CG-Real Image composition easily. %|

Like Icarus used to do (now is no longer available for downloading).

No there isn’t but the information is around on how to code yourself. A single frame camera matching isn’t that complicated but moving camera is difficult and not always succesful. It would be good to include in blender. See

This is similar to ICARUS single frame camera matching and would be easiest to implement. :smiley:

Yeah, there is a gree alternative to Icarus. It’s called Voodoo. Can’t remember the link, but search Voodoo Camera Tracking on google and you’ll find it. However, Voodoo only exports to Max and Softimage.
