Is there any way to delay a fluid engine animation?

I want a ball to bounce for a while and then on one of the high bounces, to then become fluid and splash. Is there any way to do this? Should I use a key frame?? [!] [!] [!]

hmm, I’m not sure if you can set when you want the fluid to occur, but what I would do, is to do the fluid sim 1st, then bake it and go into action editor and move it all forward X amount of frames (press [A] to select all then [G]) Then work out the timing and animate (keyframing) the ball bouncing in the keyframes before (maybe even use an RVK on the 1st bounce to make a squash and stretch effect)

k, I not sure if I did right, but oh wells, my comp crashed and all was lost… In my frenzy, I got angry and turned to a new thingy. Sorry about the dead end thread now… Is there anyway I can have this deleted? or will it stay forever??
