Instead of with the tool. Kind of problem right now. In 3ds you can select the cross section on the Gizmo to scale on the xy plane for example. This would also do the trick but scaling with numbers would be nice too.
Yes, with the gizmo, you just select two axes (shift click to select the second.) With hot keys, shift and non-scaled axis (eg: to scale xy, do shift+z). To do numerical, type s, axis, then just start typing in numbers.
