O.k., later.
Doesn’t 2.27 (&2.28?) port to renderman? That’s a raytracer almost inside blender.
Sonix.
tuhopuu does the renderman thing but i don’t think it’s finished yet
There’s also some preleminary YafRay support.
Martin
use yableX to export ur scenes to yafray and render there… its allready a very strong renderer
you can use povanim too to export to povray which is a very complete renderer too
Renderman isn’t exactly free (or even cheap.) Native Renderman support will promote piracy, and eventually Pixar will start to crack down on the Blender Foundation. It might be best to keep Renderman out of the public releases.
Actually, what sonix meant to say was it exports to 3DLight, which is a Renderman compliant renderer. Not actually Renderman.

I second to that and I wanted to add (allthough I am not very sure…) that modeling programs (such as Blender ;)) are allowed to use the Renderman Interface standard (i.e. output RIB or
make the API calls) without the need of a license… Your only obligation is to display
Pixar’s copyrights…
Spyros.
Maybe I’m stupid, but I can’t see any way to use the renderman feature with 2.27/2.28…can’t find any renderman buttons…am I being very silly ?
na you are not stupit.
in 2.27 and 2.28 there is no rib export.
the rib export is only in the tuhopuu build!
