I’m brand new so thank you in advance for any suggestions and help.
I’ve managed to import an .obj file into my new blender file. The .obj came with some texture maps.
Do I have to use UV Mapping to “skin” this object with my included textures (they are .jpgs) or is there another method used when it comes to a task such as this?
The obj file can include the objects uv coordinates if it has already been unwrapped (as is most likely). Just add the texture to the objects material mapped to UV and it should show up correctly.
Thanks for the tip Richard. I imported the 6 .jpgs that came with the .obj, but I think I’m missing something. Can you recommend any beginner tutorials on wrapping existing .obj files?
Wow - I just saw what you mean. In the right top pallette, in my scene - there are 5 different mesh’s which are labeled. I’m onto something here. Thanks again!
