Is your ANT Lanscape add on working? 2.66a, mine is not.

I’m using 2.66a and the landscape add on seems to only add a landscape, all the tools are visable even with F6 but can not be selected / used. In short, it adds a default landscape to the 3d view but nothing can be done to it.

Any one using 2.66a please try the add on to see if it works. I have checked the Bug tracker but I am unfamilar with the process for reporting a bug

Works correctly for me with 2.66a

work for me too,
blender 2.66.1 r55078

I wonder if once you created it, you translated it or even clicked to a different object in you scene. I don’t know why certain add ons are designed this way, but when you add them to the project, you have to immediately go and start fiddling with the settings and you only get one shot at it. By that I mean as soon as you move it, scale it, or jump to a different object do something there, your stuck with those settings and they usually become greyed out.

I am not having any issues with the addon in 2.66a windows 64 bit

It doesn’t work for me either, as well as when you add an object like a cylinder, the parameters do not show up in the tool shelf.
It happened somewhere between 2.65a and 2.66.
Using an iMac 64 10.7.5

Ah, I found the issue. If you for some reason drag the ‘Operator’ panel on the Tool shelf, below and out of sight, then you ‘save startup file’, that panel will still be out of sight.
To get it back, go to a blender file that was created before 2.66, open that file with ‘Load UI’ checked. The ‘Operator’ panel where parameters for just created objects will appear.

The bug has been reported.

wouldn’t load factory settings have fixed it ?

Yes. It appears to be there, just not visible in my theme. Must be some theme setting.

For some reason the script folder associated with 2.66 seems to be missing on my instalation. How in the world Blender is even working I do not know. If the scripts were not there it should not even function. I am going to re-download 2.66 and see what happens. I have 2.54 , 2.56 and 2.64 versions on my system and they all work.

The only thing I can think is that some how the script folder for 2.66 was hidden during the install and that’s what’s causing the problem.

Oh and I tried Load Factory Settings. Still the same result.

Anyone know what the [“Canceled”] in blue in the Python window means when attempting to execute a command?

Sergey over at blender is looking into why the ‘show hidden panel’ button is not visible when it should be.
They say it is not a ‘themeable’ option, so it shouldn’t be hidden.
As for the scripts folder, make sure it is not a hidden folder somewhere.
If you have a mac, there is an app for dashboard that let’s you hide and unhide folders.

update: reply from Sergey:
Ah, widget is there, it’s just not visible at all. Usability improvement

Well I uninstalled 2.66 then re-downloaded and installed, but it still does not work. Anyone know what happens if you check delete all files during unistall.? the last thing I want to do is loose all my work. I think that the re install just takes the settings from my old files and applies them, this in turn applies the unusable lanscape as well.

Very Very frustrated

What Operating System are you using?

Windows 7

Not sure what you are talking about “show hidden panel” button,

the issue is, I am not able to access or use the tools associated with the Landscape mesh when it is first added to a scene. My tools can be seen, they are there but I can not use them, they are greyed out. I hover my mouse over them and click and nothing happens.

I tried calling the “landscape” menu / tools from the python window, as well as the text editor, to see if I could control them from there but I get the message [“Canceled”]

I’ll clarify this some more. I add a lanscape, and the Landscape tools show up on the left side as they should. I hover over the various potential settings like dimensions, sealevel and so on, and they highlight as they should, but nothing works. None of the settings change, or can be changed in any way.

Probably has something to do with your scripts folder missing then if it is missing and not just hidden.

 Yea, Yea Yea,I got it woking! Man I happy, like a kid in a candy store. Still not sure what caused the problem, may have been a corrupted path issue.

Originally restoring factory settings did not work. After I reinistalled and restored factory settings it started working and I found the scripts using the system info from the blender Help, the real funny thing is I still do not see the landscape script. As the old saying goes, if it aint broke don’t fix it

At this time I am going to set things up to update my scripts and see if it plugs in that landscape file / script

Cool beans.
I know it can be frustrating at times, but we just have to plug away.
