Issues using boolean modifier making house siding

Hello,

I am struggling to use a boolean modifier on a house or shed and have watched almost every video on how to do it and every post here and elsewhere on how to do it and for some reason when I do the same thing it doesn’t work.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Of course I am not able to upload an attachment…

Boolean supports three modes.
One of them will work.

Alternatively, the FaceNormal may be incorrect and will not work.
In this case, it may not work if part of the FaceNormal is a problem, and it works the other way around if the FaceNormal is completely flipped.

※ New users have file upload restrictions.
If certain conditions are met, the file can be attached, and the attachable capacity is 5mb.

Or upload it outside and leave a link

This site has about the dumbest rules I have ever seen. Right about there with Reddit mods. Can’t post a file or a picture, might as well delete this account and go elsewhere.

Edit: Actually somehow worse than Reddit

just give a few likes to some posts and you can do that. It’s just a few minutes. Beside as Kim wrote you can just upload to any cloud service and paste the link here.

Believe me - the rules on Blender Stack Exchange are MUCH worse and more strict than here and most of the mods are unkind and using their power to close questions quicker than you can watch. This here is paradise in comparison. And the fact that you can downvote questions is one more thing people make feel bad. That doesn’t even exist here.

It’s a light rule that many sites around the world have for a long time.
In some places, you can only sign up, and there are many places where you can write after administrator approval.

That’s probably a good call.

Try blender.stackexchange.com if you want to post a single scenario with a direct question and get pointed answers and solutions only. This forum is about the art as well as the software and in the past has been almost shut down with spam, attacks and the like so the rules exist for a reason.

My main advice in any issue is to reduce the example to work from to a simple cube and the attempt can be better observed to see what is really going on. Once that works as expected, then I move the action to the object in my project. I hope you figure and eventually can share the progress.

How do you expect to get help when you offer absolutely no information at all other than " it doesn’t work"?
Just wondering?

Select the object, go to properties editor, modifier tab, add a boolean modifier and pick the operand from the object field. Set the solver to manifold, it gives best results. There you go !
