I’ve recently ordered a Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch Small Tablet(CTH480). Does anyone know if it comes with a protective cover? If not, can I use a sheet of clear acetate instead?
You can purchase a separate cover http://www.amazon.com/POSRUS-Wacom-Intuos-CTH480-Surface/dp/B00HPZ10JI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1395614831&sr=1-1&keywords=wacom+cth480+cover
I’ve heard good things about using tracing paper or onion skin (for the thinness, not the transparency) on Intuos Tablets. Of course, I heard that from the same people who recommended short lengths of Weed Wacker filament as replacement nibs for the pens…
(My tablet did not come with a cover.)

Thanks for the help! I’ve decided to buy a cover to avoid the hassle of a cheap DIY cover.

Did you mean something like this? http://vegarblack.deviantart.com/art/Making-Wacom-nibs-343443919
The amazing thing is that I have one of those…but I haven’t used it in a while…
Really I should give to some artist…
Yup. That’s the one… (I’d be more inclined to experiment with Nylon guitar strings)
What’s so bad about using weed whacker filament? Why are Nylon guitar strings better?
My friend bought a note-taking tablet that comes with the original cover. The touch response is still good but the surface feels rough for our fingers. So he then bought a replacement cover and it now feels a lot better.
I have a guitar. I don’t have a lawn with weeds that need whacking.
Well that makes sense.
