Here’s a preview of my weekend contest entry. I have him rigged with an armature, and I did a posed one, but he needs some hair or a hat, and maybe some ears. I’ll put up the file when he’s complete.
Cool texture. Looks just a little low poly but I would really like to see him in motion.

yeah I wasn’t paying alot of attention to detail,…thing was, when I began, I thought I was in the speed modelling comp. that’s cool though, now I can make him a hat.
wow, kick ass texture mapping.
I have yet to attempt UV mapping. That was just straight texturing and vertex paint. And thanks. Here’s the blend with ears hair and hat. .blend===> http://home.att.net/~zolgnar/index.html/JackInTheBoxx.zip
could someone direct me to a vertex painting tut? i must try it…
It’s easy. Just click on the paintbrush button with your object selected, Then click on the other paintbrush button that gives you your pallete where you mix your colors, change brush size etc. then you just sort of move your object around w alt LMB ( the normal way) and ‘spraypaint’ it using LMB (left mouse button). Then go to material, and click the button by the color sliders that say ‘Col Paint’, and you’re good to go. You can also use face select mode and vertex paint together, which would be useful if you need to paint suzannes pupils black, without spilling over into the iris. One other thing of note,…Use an object with alot of faces. It won’t work properly on say a single plane.
Here he is without his paint job ===>
