Jean-Luc Picard sculpting practice

Hey guys, it’s been a while since I posted anything. I just wanted to share something I worked on recently - a favorite character from years past. The goal was to sculpt something in less than a day, just for the practice. I don’t really have any plans to take this any further, but I would love to hear your thoughts.



Looks great. Very close sculpt and at this point even the most subtle features are not only hard to put your finger on, but hard to move just in the right spot ever so slightly. To me, it seems like the nose is a bit off somewhere. Maybe the ala part of the nose curves under toward the apex a little too much?

Perhaps you’re right about the nose. I agree there are quite a few little bits that are close, but not quite right. That was one of the things I was trying to practice - training my eye. I’m considering taking this into a more stylized direction, perhaps doing some retopology for a game ready model, and perhaps doing some hand painted textures.
