photoshop? hmm… well, very well painted anyways… the thing why I dont much like computer painted pictures is the plastic-flat-look of them…this is otherwise great picture, but photoshop is ruining it.
try painter, if you have to paint with computer…
who is jessica alba?
p.s. i like that thick line of back…

well… I looked at the picture you linked… I think Snailroses picture is better. the one “Raphael” did looks like a photograph… I dont see ANY point on that… if he didn’t use photograph as a guide, maybe then I could say “wow”… but … I dunno.
I want to see the paint on painting. I want to see the process of making, you know… that’s why nothing beats seeing a real painting, up in close.
lastly, I would like to point out, that I also hate airbrush pictures.

I couldn’t agree more…
Computer art has its own unique style to it, which i happen to find very expressive in it’s self, but there is no replacing traditonal media…
I took a look at you site, coffee stories,
damn that is great work…

I understand that many of us have talents beyond Blender, and I must say your art is very impressive, and please dont take offense, but isn’t this a forum for art done in Blender or atleast a portion done in Blender. I have TONS of art done in PhotoShop is it O.K. to post it here? Just wondering, Nice work Snailrose
The NDN…

u dont?
u said computer paintings look flat and plastic… the point of that picture is to show u how not flat and not plastic that looks
whats wrong with realism? its realism in this day and age that most computer artists strive for, especially 3d artists… should we stop cuase theres no point to it ? hehe

heh… ok… but the thing I liked in snailroses pic is the brush-trail, or how should I say it… you can see how it’s painted. the only thing wrong with it is , that it’s flat, there is no impasto. that can only be achieved (kind of) in “Painter”. which is a pretty cool program btw.
nothing wrong with realism. I always like realism, real life consepts and scenes … but I have never quite understood why so many artists thrieve for photorealism, in painting, or computer arts. kills the creativity.
and you don’t need to stop in my account but don’t expect me to join in… I have done two photorealistic paintings in my life, from photographs (portraits). that’s enough.

This raphael feller admits outright on his site that these are all copies of photographs. I assume he means that he had the photo in a window next to the one he drew in… but in all honesty I don’t see the point of that really. Digitally hand drawing a copy of a photograph, seems like such a waste of time.
Snailrose: I like yours better, at least you can see your hand in it. Good one… I think her eyes are a bit bigger IRL

please, check out the rest of his pics on the forum, he has some absolutely stunning totally original peices as well!.. digitally copying from a photo is good practice, how else would u learn better? =D raph rocks…
snailrose rocks too! i wish i could paint that good on the comp =\
