Joanne lowpoly

Intended to be no more then 3k in polys as a limit for my Side sroller game in Blender GE, Secrete ArticFacts.

Also once the game is finished this will be the last game in Blender GE for me, becuase its gotten me lazy and gimped me from learning actural programming.

This is modeled with no Direct reference only my oringal head sketch of joanne.

I still have a lot todo as far as the complete model.

Can’t say much about it at this state.
But it would be nice if you would post your reference right here. And also wires, please (Z!).

I can already see some places on the face where you need edge loops as opposed to the tri’s you have already. And I don’t believe it would be difficult to modify. Then again…you never really NEED edge loops…but…you could use em.

Desoto I never planed to model with edge loops its just feeling the model… Also optimized the face a bit for faces that were close and flat.

Currently @ 510 polys/668 tris

NICE! I can’t wait to see how you model the hair into your model!

(BTW: LAST GAME!? :o … i see… you need to move on… :-? )

nice form sutabi! you have a real feel for this low-poly stuff. I don’t think edge-loops matter as much for low poly anyway- tris are your final target, and its simple enough to be managable. I think your cartoony style works well with the low poly stuff- Its somehow a soft, currvy looking model despite the hard edges.

Currently @ 817 polys/1404 tris

I really spend a lot of time On the pevis but it still doesn’t look right! thats and the stomach is buggin me

Nice work sutabi…

I’m waiting to see her finished…

great eye for modeling in lowpolymode

really great!

Perfect for what it’s used for. If you don’t need to animate a facial feature, you don’t need any loops - simple as that. Looking forward to see some texturing.

I updated I accident edited over my lasy post here anways there is the update

I like the progress… nice hair!
Just be easier on her lower belly…

In the drawing she looks older and skinnier, so I think you should try to make her resemble the drawing more.

I can understand it’s diffuicult making a 3d model look the same as the 2d drawing but you should try to realise the drawing more.

btw, how do you find out how many polygons a mesh has?

Actrally the face in the drawing was completely Ignored becuase like I said I modeled off the original head sketch. AS far as making her skinny it wont match. Why? becuase its just a drawing I took in no facts of realism when I drew that image. Not all 2d things translate well into 3D

as for number of faces look @ the top right of your blender header. Select the mesh and goto inot edit mode and slect all faces. To get the tri count just goto the edit options and look @ the decimeter

good stuff stabs! I think you need to make her body a bit shorter. and definately make the mouth a bit smaller. Also, you might want to try and make her back more curvy and beef her hips up a bit. Hope this turns out well, and I hope you’ll “finish” it  [!]
