And before you point out Rush Limbaugh and the like, to find most conservative radio talk shows you have to go to AM radio, which few people listen to anyway and has a poor signal, and conservatives on TV donāt get equal treatment. Alltaken, you can follow this misguided plot if you wish, and you can fool yourself (or allow yourself to be fooled) by its intended objective, but the solution you seek will fail to be realized, and for two reasons:

Your boycott is extortionist. It affects the financial security, job security and possibly the foreign-policy view of ordinary, employed Americans (people just like you), in the hopes that they will put preasure, individually via the ballot and collectivly thru their employers lobby, on the Govt to change. What they need to change is such a vast subject that, as a reasonable summary, for now, letās just say āThe Constitutionā.

Itās aimed at the wrong target. The āBig Bussinessā that you intend to boycott doesnāt sell anything that you could refuse to buy. The specific policies you wish to influence are influenced by the defence industry (American) and international finance (predominantly American), and to a lesser extent the security apparatus.
In a perfect world it would be cool to say āIām withholding my buying-power until you get your politicions to effect changeā, but the changes must be made by politicions. And hereās the rub - They are in office because they are politicions. You can tell a politicion a thousand times that he is wrong, and you can prove it a thousand times more, and it will only encourage him to be more adamant about his own point of view. Those who are willing to admit their wrongs fall by the wayside. To a certain extent the electorate behaves in the same way. egā¦ when Clintonsā peace plan fails because a minority of radicals succeed in derailing it, they support, agree with and back the election of Sharon.
I suspect that a boycott will simply give the politicions a reason to say to the electorate, āYou see, this is why we have these policies, and now we have reason to redouble our effortsā.
Note, Iām not telling you not to do it. It would be easier for me to just badmouth you, or, better still, just ignore you. What I am saying is that until you are a significant consumer of military hardware and tech and have major investments or colateral in the finance industry you simply donāt have the amunition to play the game, a point the international terrorist groups realised long ago. I was refering tour John Ashcroft in general, giving his polictical choices of morality, he is clearly in the line of the taliban. Taliban support censorship, religious laws, banning expression, art, music, data and support. He donāt believe in a state soverenty and his views that goes against comman law and Republicans as well is a clear connection of taliban rule.
It would creat job, in America that is, you see all labor is exported tour other contries, by boycotting it, it will would make exporting non profitable which in turn will forcus on the job at home. It would also serve the enviorment because country will be aboligated, to find there own source of transportation, fuel and resource to build shelter, it would also creat a market in recycling and rebuilding products. It would also create jobs of production within the US, Ford is building trucks in Texas because importing the products are far too expensive and the threat of Terror attack proves how dependent Americans are on other nations. These are not long term goal, the only future for the world that there is now, is going tour poorer countrys for productiong and taking of there resource, whatās going to happen when nations start to unionize and strike ? And what would happen if no more resource could be found ? What then ?
