Hi, I would like to know if it’s possible to join several object in one object (ctrl+j) but with every object in a vertex group ?
Any vertex groups will be maintained when you join objects so if the vertices of each object are part of a vertex group before joining they still will be after joining. The vertex group names have to all be unique otherwise any vertex groups with the same names will be merged into one vertex group.
I don’t see why this couldn’t be automated with a python script so you don’t have to create the initial vertex groups.
ok, thanks for the tip Richard I was hoping I wouldn’t need python ^^ but I can understand it’s not used that much.
