Jungle Bay racetrack

Hello everyone!

This is the first time I’ve posted any of my work in these forums, and for this project I’m looking as many suggestions/crits as possible. It’s a racetrack for a shockwave racing game and I want this to be my best and most realistic one yet, my only problem is that I am running out of ideas on how to improve it and make it look even better… (it’s still very much a WIP atm).

The track is a beach/jungle type theme and below are the latest shots from in-game, along with the mesh from top-down:

I think my biggest problem is the trees, I’m not too sure how to fake forest mass and I have tried putting in treelines but it just doesn’t work too well, plus the palm trees are not thick enough to disguise it, do you have any suggestions in that aspect?

If you want, you can check out the forum post following the progress of the track since it began, with even more shots:

Thanks for your help!

Wow I like it.

Perhaps leave it alone…I think it looks fine the way it is. Add a few more palms or as many as you can get away with.

Nice work

I’d like to see that on Mario Kart: Double Dash!!! 8)

Nice, though.
Just leave it.

Not bad, not bad!

A few suggestions though:

I’ve underlined some spots where you can see the edges of the textures. play with your UV textures a little, and make sure that the edge of the border is inside the image limits.

One more thing: You should apply some vertex colors in various shades of grey to the sides of the buildings, to give them shadow.
