soo, I just finished F.E.A.R. (not the expansion though. I can now say, without a doubt, that next to HL2, FEAR is my mostst favoritist game I have ever seen. (Oblivion takes a close third, but that might all change with the release of Portal) a lot of the (SPOILER, sort of) visions of the birth were awesom, and the nuclear blast at the end blew me AWAY (figuratively). I can’t wait to play the expansion (too bad I’m saving up for a PSP), FEAR was just so crazily awsome, I could go on for days (but I won’t, so be happy)
My only complaints are a few physics gliches (just graphics- some ragdolls stuck in walls, etc.) and that, despite the name, it wasn’t very scary (just a bit jumpy at times).
However, now that I’m done with my blabbering, I was wondering (and don’t tell me there’s all ready a thread for this, I’m sure ther is, but I bet it’s old too) what are your current top favorite video games (for any system, not just computer)
okay, I think I got my weekly forum immaturity out of me, now I’m off to make some useful posts (sure)
thats fine, I absolutely hate Halo i also finished f.e.a.r. recently, i agree that it’s not that scary, but does make you jump a few times. i wanna get hl2 soon, i’ve been playing Obvlivion alot
GTA All the way!! football is brilliant (soccer) and halo… is boring …
Half Life 2 is really good! especially garys mod! the game is so well done its like your playing in a movie.
For those who dont know what garys mod is, basicly you can build anything you like out of alot of objects, you can weld them to toether, to make a car, plane (hard) etc… really is fun!
yeah…no.
Got Serious Sam 2 on the Xbox yesterday for $16 bucks! NOW THAT’S A FUN GAME, really fast-paced and there are ridiculous amounts of enemies, you also get crazy weapons.
Oh yeah and i made a tower out of boxes (You can pick them up and move them and stuff)
Fun Game.
Perhaps. I hate hate Halo as well, mainly because of the poor physics, and 5 texturesthey used for the whole thing. Seemed like a barely mediocre game that got so much positive attention, for well, nothing.
Back to the topic. I have to say that Theif: Deadly Shadows ranks in my top three, somewhere. The art design on that game was inceredible, and it had unsurpassed atmosphere, espescially the the Cradle sequence. Scary as hell. I highly recommend it to everyone, though it was sadly overlooked by most everyone. Also Aliens Vs. Predator 2 was incredible, brilliant ambience, pretty scary, and three stories (you could play as the aliens, predators or humans, and all handled quite differently). Company of Heroes is another classic. The most detail ever seen in an RTS. The only thing I thought they were missing from that game was the option to play in 1st person as one of the soldiers :). That about wraps it up for my top three. Cool topic though, interesting to know what people are playing.
Absolutely! I got SS2 with my video card, had to wait some weeks for the Linux port which is now in beta and very much playable already. Such fun! Just gotta love that queer humour.
And as with Serious Sam Second Encounter some time ago, I’m also totally amazed at what this generation of the Serious engine can do. I heard that Serious engine 3 is in the works, hopefully there will be a Linux port also.
