That’s very good if your just begining. Two comments though, first, you need to turn on oversampling (OSA). It’ll get rid of the jagged edges you’ve got. It’s in the display buttons (F10) right under the Render button. You need to turn on the big OSA button, and then chose your OSA level. Higher numbers give better results, but longer render times. I’d also suggest you play around with the dice materials. The transparency isn’t so good. I’d suggest you make them solid, or you play around with eeshlo’s refract plugin found at http://www-users.cs.umn.edu/~mein/blender/plugins/texture/refract/index.html . To use plugins create a new material, go into the texture buttons(F6) and select Plugin. The go to load plugin and search for where you saved it. The example blend file has instructions on how to use the plugin.
Another option would be to use some materials that Sutabi has made valiable to the general community at https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14000 . To use a material, or anything for that matter, from a different file you have to append the material into your current file. To do this hit Shift+F1, browse to the file that contains the material you want, select it, go to materials, and then select the material you want. It will now be located in the material buttons.

I hope this made some sense.

Eeshlo’s link isn’t working. It sounds interesting though! I would love to give it a try! Does anyone know where I can get the refract plugin?
