I guess you didn’t model in Blender. Solidworks, Cobalt?
I wonder if a somewhat detailed explanation of a parametric solid modeled object could convince people that having features like that in Blender would rule (and be of use in everyday modeling of architecture, furniture, hardware …).

thank you for your indirect compliment but guess what, no Cobalt or Rhino
pure Blender. using a lot of s along one axis to align points, very often shift f
to fill areas for drilled holes and alt s for creating a thickness.
I found the edge length tool to be quite cool and using the grid can help you a lot
as long as you object is not to organic.
but I am with you, Blender should get some more advanced tools and snapping functions. a good bevel and thickness tool would be already great!
the only thing I did not model where the screw threading.
but check out that mobile blender model. i think his model is terrific. i still cannot
believe it is all with subdivs.
Amazing. Last time I tried to model hardware in Blender, it bought me close to tears, sneef
