I love this community! I just recently switched over to blender from max and I have to say, if it wern’t for you guys here I don’t think I would have stuck with it. Blender was pretty awkward feeling at first but once you play with it a bit and adjust the interface it is every bit as good as max.
I have been on hundreds of different forums and I can honestly say that you guys are the most polite helpful group of people I have ever come across; not to mention extremely talented artists.
Anyway just wanted to say thanks for cutting a noob some slack. Without this forum I think I would have been shelling out 3.5k for max because I would have given up.
Aw, thank you thank you thank you. We often don’t feel the love, so posts like yours get printed and taped to the wall. We are fighting several problems as ‘helpers’: 1) understanding the real problem the newbie is facing, often based on a textual description of what they think they see or an explanation of what they think they did 2) communicating textually, often without pictures, for help on a Graphical application, 3) in English often to non-native english-speaking users, 4) using terms that a person who is new to 3D modeling doesnt grasp or from their point trying to describe something when they dont have the lingo, 5) often having to “prove them wrong” when the post starts out “this feature does not work. it is useless!!” and then 6) since you’ve proved them wrong, they don’t ever say thank you, and 7) answering the same question over and over again when a simple search would have avoided even having to ask. Adn there’s more, but you get the idea.
So tell your mama she did good by teaching you to say “thank you” every now and then.
