I post this one in “Finished Projects” even if for me, it is really far from being finished.
I made this animation for a tutorial for the French edition of “Computer Arts” magazine, trying to “mimic” (with a lower level of details, of course) the destruction of the Kremlin in the movie “Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol”.

This Animation was done in Blender 2.63a, using Cycles for the rendering of the Kremlin (not covered in the article), and Internal Renderer for the smoke. Then, both element was composited together.
The original MP4 (compressed with higher quality), can be downloaded by clicking the Download button, just bellow the video.
They are several things to add to make a perfect explosion, and so many things are missing (debris, flames, etc …) but I only have 6 pages to explain the technique. So … I think it’s a good start but it’s not finished yet. Just a kind of crappy test … :o
