I think modeling is mostly done, please tell me if you see any mistakes in mesh. I’ll be working on textures and materials in near future… C&C are welcome

awesome job. how many faces are on that thing? in quads.
Wow…I couldn’t see any problem dude…very nice work!!!
About 6800 faces…
Thanks dudes ![]()
Nice modeling…maybe just tweaking a bit the material setting of the wood it kinda look plastic…and it would be perfect…good job
I’ve got a problem. My textures don’t render, I don’t know why.
I Unwrap the model in UVeditor give it a texture (UVlayer).
Then in materials I switch Texface on, and it doesn’t render nor in internal blender neither in yafray.
So I give a texture to materials and put it as a UV type in “Map input”, but still Yafray doesn’t render it.
Is there any change in blender 2.43 so I should do it any other way? Please help.
composition is nice too.
First, the model looks great. I just have a quick question for you. Did you use a subsurf modifier on any part of the model? I like inorganic models, and I’m torn between using subsurf and just using extra edges to try to simulate rounded edges. What method did you use? Any chance sharing the mesh for educational purposes?
Thats pretty much perfect model, can’t wait to see it textured.
I didn’t think of sharing the model… first I must end this project and then we will see…
I didn’t use subsurf, I think this is good for organics, becouse you have curve surfaces all over the model. Yes I made “extra edges on edges” this way your mesh doesn’t get really big bunch of useless verticies which slow down the rendering.
All model is set to smooth, I used “edgesplit” modifier for solid edges (I set angle at 85, and marked some of the edges for solid)
