Keeping Mesh Deformation

Is there a way to unparent a bone from a mesh and keep the mesh’s transformation? I’ve searched and chatted, but no one knows how. I’ve tried alt+p to unparent and then keep transformation, but all that seems to do is keep the bone’s transformation.

There’s a python script, I think by teeth, that does this. Do some searches in the Python and Plugins forum. I think it was called something like (very paraphrased though). I think this is the article.
