Killers Composite Lab

I just whipped up a quick glow in blender using nodes. It took me about 15 minutes, give or take?

It is VERY flexible and can be added to multiple objects without any trouble! The color control is the hardest but still, it’s only working with RGB curves.

Tell me what you think =D (The scene has no lights in it. The only light is the fake “emit” from the ball)

Yes, very neat.
Thanks for sharing !

I have to learn what that “Alpha over” node does… (!)

The alpha over node combines 2 effects, render layers, or alpha of course. There’s 2 image inputs. The top one is the top layer and the bottom is the bottom layer

If you want the cube on top of a plane in 2 render layers (figuratively speaking) put the render layer of the cube node connected to the top input of the Alpha Over node and put the render layer of the plane node to the bottom input.

Thanks! I’m glad you like it!

Ok guys, here’s a new node setup. I call this node Drama. This can add studio quality lighting and shadow depth to add extra drama to any scene. This render is using 1 lamp. The nodes do all the rest!

I uploaded 2 renders of each monkey. The first one doesn’t have the Drama node setup. the second is with the node.

No problem. Feel free to post your own renders with these effects =D

Hey Killer,

Nice work on the glow nodes, I’ve been looking for an effect like that for some time.

Looks like I’ll be busy for a while experimenting with nodes. Thanks for sharing = )

No problem! I’m glad you like them!
