Kit Car Concept - Free Ergonomic Model

Heres an image of a single seat commuter car I have been working on for a few months now. The chassis and other mechanical items were designed in Catia V5 and imported via Stereo Lithography format .stl. I just thought I would drop a body on it in blender for some fun to inspire me to continue the mechanical design. Your comments please or post some better designs!

That’s a pretty nice interior. I would like to see some more detailed shots of the more mechanical aspects of the car. Otherwise, the body looks pretty uninspired. You might want to clean up the seam where you joined the body panels in the middle.

I have posted the human in his bucket seat should anyone require the model for a vehicle they are designing. The file is located at :-

I have been working on the body a bit. I have improved the textures a little (tyres etc.) and added some more detail to the glass. I want to keep the glass flat as this would be required for manufacture of a kit car of these dimensions (No donor windscreen of this size). The back end needs lots more work and I need a place for a radiator. I would like this to be at the back, maybe a Formula 1 style side pod!

Comments and crits welcome.

Nice wide ‘footprint’ => good stability.

I see no axles => electric motors in the wheels? :stuck_out_tongue: I like that!

Can I order a pick-up version?

Ive been working on the rear sections a little. Added rear wing, and hood, side scoops and details such as shock absorbers and rear diff. Engine is scaled from a Yamaha R1 motorbike. Also tried a lurid paint in case it doesn’t stand out in a crowd! next job rear lights and exhaust can.
