Kiwi fruit in Blender and Substance Designer

I wanted share my results trying to make a photorealistic kiwi render using Blender and using Substance Designer to make the face.

The face was made using Substance Designer. This was more for fun and the challenge. The really interesting part of it was to create the sense of depth because the kiwi flesh is translucent.

I also created a series of videos on how I created the kiwi model and a separate video on how I made the face in Substance Designer.



The modelling and texturing is great. I think the cut face of the fruit needs some sub-surface scattering though, as it looks too opaque as it stands.

While there is some, it could use more sub-surface scattering now that you mention it.
