knife tool: exact multicut?

Is there any way to make the knife tool’s “exact” mode make multiple cuts? It only seems to make the first cut through a given set of edges, e.g. when I do this:

I want to end up with three cuts through that stretched cube, but it only does the first one.

Multicut mode makes multiple cuts, but at regular intervals and lined up parallel to the nearest edge loops – I want to make multiple cuts at arbitrary places and arbitrary angles.

Ya it only makes one cut at the top. It seems once knife tool go off the edge, the cutting sequence ends. But then you can make multiple cuts one cut at a time just as fast using hot key.

Hmm… my problem is that I want to end up with the cuts selected, and if I’m doing one at a time, selecting them means I lose selection on the edges I’m cutting. So I’ve been saving the cuts in a vertex group and then reselecting all after each one, but that’s extra keystrokes. It’s not too bad; was just hoping there was a better way.

I have found, that with f…g sculpting and animation functionality, the basic tools was broken!
There are no possibility to cut with knife by entering 2 (start and end) points. Line cutting was broken!

As was highlighted in the thread, this is still on the todo list. You’ll just have to be patient.
