There’s also an optimizer that can make identical parts of the frames transparent and crop them (Additive frames).
Another nice thing in the GIMP – You can save as MNG (Low complexity) – Which gives you full 32-bits and better compression. Unfortunately the only browser ever to support it was Mozilla, and currently it’s not in there anymore. There’s a bug filed to get it back in though
