Lack of thumbnails on finished animation / wips

Just wondering why in the finished artwork section there are little thumbnails next to each post, yet in wip, focused critique, and finished animations they aren’t?

I really like having these, so when scrolling thru a forum, something might catch your eye and encourage you to look at the post. I can’t even imagine how many nice pieces of artwork i’ve missed for no other reason that the title didn’t catch my eye.

At minimum, thumbnails should be added in the finished animation section, but I’d like to see them in the wip and focused critique as well if it is possible.

Just my opinion.

So refreshing to see that today previews are now being shown in the WIP and focused critique art sections… thanks to the forum administrators for adding this small, but well appreciated addition… sigh… if only there was a way to do it for the animation section.

Very welcome and thank you for hanging with us on the site! Agreed having it on the animation section would be neat.

Traditional forum could use thumbnails too if it’s not a terribly difficult thing to do.

Great idea and done!

Awesome, thanks!

On Vimeo, they allow you to upload a thumbnail frame when you upload a video… I was just thinking for the poor old previewless animation section, if the author of the animation, could upload a still frame for the preview somehow. I know it would require some behind the scenes coding or something, but maybe that would be a workaround. Obviously you wouldn’t want the actual animation playing in the preview thumbnail.

It’s funny because this change with the previews, already is paying off, I’ve had fun just browsing older threads and checking out stuff I missed. I’m really enjoying the new sketchbook section as well.
