lamer wrapping problems

ugh, this is pissing me off.

i have a texture like this

wbwbwbwbwbwbwbw
wbwbwbwbwbwbwbw
wbwbwbwbwbwbwbw
wbwbwbwbwbwbwbw

(w = white, b= black)

when i chuck it on the tube i have, i just get crud on it, no matter how i rotate it or which wrapping option i choose <i.e. flat, tube, sphere, cube>

any ideas?

have you tried UV mapping, it allows for a little more precision. There are some great tutorials at the top of this forum.

Assumed you have original coordinates on for mapping, I’d say you made some transformations (rotation) of the tube in edit mode. A back rotation in edit mode to the original vertex coordinates should solve your problem.
Or you switch to normal coordinates for mapping.
