Lamps, scenes and layers

Hi,

I have done a little solar system and I created a spacestation orbiting one of the planets.
but the sun (wich has a Lamp-Sun child) is lightening the objects in the spacestation.
And it is not supposed to be like this
I want the objects beeing lightened by the light in the spacestation and not by the sun outside.

So I was thinking using layers, but I am not sure if it is involved in object exclusion for lamps.

Is there a way to overlay multiple scenes in 1 screen ?

Please help
thx

You can overlay scenes with the scene actuator. But you don’t need it for this.

Just put the spacestation and its lamp on a separate layer.

You can also assign a lamp to cast light to multiple layers (press M, and hold shift when selecting needed layers).

thx

You can overlay scenes with the scene actuator. But you don’t need it for this.

so how do I create an overlay?

Again, you don’t need that.

Anyway:

Create another scene (with the menu below the window bar) and add a ‘Scene’ actuator. Change its type to ‘Add OverlayScene’. Link it to an ‘AND’ actuator that is linked to an ‘ALWAYS’ sensor (uncheck the pulse button, so it runs just once). Most important, don’t forget to add my name in the credits of your game

lol
I think there are going to be a lot of years before I could make money with blender
ok I will
