I’ve also made a landschape demo, but with some problems with framrate, so check the Framerate dropdown topic about that.

Here’s the .blend: http://home.tiscali.nl/jdvhulst/elysiun/landschape_demo.blend

Thanks Phill! I´ve got your script to work on my scene (still minor adjustments to do on the config). Works great!

I still get a 404 error on that

but check on blender.org the newest build (20040518) it seems that IT HAS FRUSTUM CULLING.

z3rd0, get this file instead (same script): http://mysite.freeserve.com/liftstudios/Canyon_test.zip

Gelutu, going there right now! Thanks for the tip.

I have … and …

well that script isn’t perfect, but is surprizingly effective (especially for how simple it is)

if I were to modify it I would probably just make the script more understanding that each block is square (I didn’t gather that it did that)

also, if I were to write my own I would have regions that could be defined by the user so it wouldn’t just be frustrum culling.

great work and demo…

Well, Blender new culling scheme is great, but I guess I won´t see any result unless I get to create a stand alone game, right? Or they release a new web plugin. Inside Blender I got a 30% FPS boost!
Well, I´ve managed to plug Saint_Pill´s script into my game on Blender 2.25. I get the culling going on ok, but I don´t get a FPS boost? Actually it even slows down the game. Any clues why?

I kinda figured out why its slow. I think I have too many objects. Will join them. Because with culling on I got less resources for the Rasterizer and more resources used by the Logic.
