"Lareira" Scene

Hey guys!

I’m new here on Blender Artists.org  I have 6 months of Blender and i’m from Brazil.

So yeah, after this little introduction about myself, i’d like to show you guys my lastest work:

(I uploaded it to an image hosting site, but apparently i can’t post much URLs yet :P)

A small little scene that i have been making for at least a month ago. (Because just the Weapon - Mozin Nagant - took me 2 weeks :stuck_out_tongue: Everything is modelled by me and i’m at the final stages of production, working mostly on trying to get the fire right and with the compositor

Anyways, feedback is really welcome, because it was with feedack from other communities that i have come to this result.

Thank you all and i’m looking foward to meet you all.

Best regards,

  • Daniel Schubert.

The scene is a little too dark for me, hard to see the details. Otherwise, it’s a good start.

I would work on the textures on the wall, they appear to be some kind of very coarse material that does not fit well in such a refined looking setting.

The Fire Place bricks look flat, they should have some depth.

Floor looks good, the rifles should have some kind of underlight on them. If you don’t want to rework your lighting rig, just toss a tiny reflect on the rifle material, which will cause it to reflect any “lit” elements in a very realistic fashion. Be warned it can be a big render eater.
Everything else is in shadow and feels good for the scene theme, setup, and lighting. No point in putting Hero Detailed Materials on heavily shadowed materials unless there is some subtle need you are going for. Esp on such a small render.

I’d scale down the texture on the walls, to my eye it’s too coarse. I’d also scale down the bricks in the fireplace, they look a bit too small to be cinder blocks and a bit too big to be regular bricks. That said, great start and nice ambiance. Stay with it!
