I’m trying to lasso mask on the front face but the back side is still selected.
How can I fix this?

Just googled about it and found that some people had stuck with that problem either but didn’t found the solution for it.
Based on that I can assume that maybe that’s just how it should work

Maybe you should just use the default mask, or it isn’t the case?
need to select a specific things that said in the tutorial. but maybe it doesn’t matter because I just need to grab and adjust something in the sculpt and tweaking is face only mode always.

You can use the lasso mask to select with front faces only did you do that?
Choose it from the workspace tool panel on the left, then the setting is in the toolsettings of the outliner.
lasso mask tool is not showing to me. only
That is the brush mask tool. Look further down, it is beside the box mask tool.
