Layers not showing

Hi

I am busy working on a scene with multiple layers. I was in one doing some modelling. When i was finished I wanted to switch to another layer but found that the little box with all the layer buttons was gone.

Pls help!!!

SOLVED: I was hiding all the other objects by accident.

You may be local view mode. Toggle between local and global view with the numpad / key
