Awesome feature.

I don’t think you understand what ‘rc’ stands for ![]()
Forget I said anything.
Thought people might be interested there is a build with this feature.
If I may put words into your mouth, what you mean to say is:
It’s not in 2.[4]5 rc2, [and therefore won’t be in 2.45 final.] . . . so I [know and] hope this makes it into 2.5 final.

for people who don’t want to download…
what does this “lazy mouse” do?
S.
Is there a patch available for this “lazy mouse” feature? I haven’t noticed it in the tracker.
I believe it allows one to apply straighter strokes in Sculpt mode ( = less sensitive to small movements of the mouse/stylus). It’s useful for more rigid or less organic objects.
.
I think lazy mouse shouldn’t be that hard to implement, it’s a matter of seeing the mouse stroke as a bumpy curve then using a smoothing algorithm for the actual sculpt stroke, this could theoretically be useful for texture paint too.
Lazy mouse can be a very useful feature.
It definately is, but they rather should implement at least basic masking features instead of just trying to find “new” tools and puzzle a bit of everything together.
It’s in SVN, Nick committed it a while ago. It’s similar to a new feature in ZBrush 3, and it’s very cool - makes smooth strokes on a dense sculpt much easier.
