LDR Importer 1.1.5 imports "claw" pieces as two separate meshes

Hi all,

I’m using the Lego DR Importer script (1.1.5) on Blender 2.69 and I noticed that “claw” pieces (aka Part #2555 Name: PLATE 1X1 W. UP RIGHT HOLDER) are created as two different meshes. It seems to import them as a “flat plate” piece (aka Part# 3070 Name: FLAT TILE 1X1) and as a “claw” bit, which has no corresponding LEGO Brick.

I’ve managed to put a hack into the script so it combines the meshes, but I was wondering if there was a reason this occurs, and if it occurs with any other bricks? I suspect it has to do with the LDraw brick library and not the LDR Importer Script, in which case there’s not much I can do about it. I wonder why they defined this particular brick so lazily when the rest are so faithfully reproduced?
