Leaf thing..

I am making a logo with some golden leaf’s (like the romans wore on their head), but i cant seem to find a good way to do it… HELP
Thanks

Model the single leaf.

Create a nice gold material, strong Spec, yellow colour for spec, rich golden hue for color low hardness.

Create a mesh of the 'branch’for the leaves.

Parent leaf to branch

Use Duplivert

Stefano

You could use an image of a leaf that you like as a background image and “trace” it to create the leaf shape. Then modify it to the shape you need.

Here is a drawing of the leafs:

It GOTO be as similar as possible!!

Thanks for your help!

Take that image and hit Shft-F7.
Load it as a BackGround Pic and scale it to the size you want it.
Add a plane and delete 1 vert.
Arrange the 3 remaining verts along the edge of one leaf.
Select the one on the end (yellow) and Shft-LMB where you want the next vert to be.
Do this to complete the shape of the leaf.
Make the total # of verts divisable by 3.
Select 3 verts at a time and hit F to make faces.
In object mode Hit Z to see the faces.
In object mode Shft-D to duplicate a copy for each leaf.
Position them, scale each to size and tweak individual verts to make them fit.
Add another plane and do the same to make the stems.
If you were in top view go to side view and move everything into shape so it fits the head or whatever.
Select all the leaves and hit Ctrl-J to join them.
Give them a material and texture.
Select the stems and do the same
Shft-Rmb the leaves and hit Ctrl-P to parent them to the stems.

This is basic stuff and can be found by searching the KnowledgeBase and the forum.

That wont help making them 3d… I need to make it rotate in an anim, and the line in the middle of every leaf must be vissible.

can anyone make an example, or even the whole thing?

Here’s a quick made leaf ( sorry no time to make the rest)

You won’t come far without learning some basic modeling techniques (and animation techniques). Do some tutorials.

I anticipated that here:

If you were in top view go to side view and move everything into shape so it fits the head or whatever.

And then he wrote:

and I anticipated that:

I understand that you are new and I forgive you for that, but there is a load of searchable help out there that a lot of people have spent a lot of time putting together. If you haven’t found it yet follow the link in my sig. If you are not prepared to make some effort to help yourself then don’t expect much help on this forum in the future.

Looks similar to the way I had to overlap my petals in the rose I created. I made a nice looking leaf by modeling it point by point, then extruding it just a touch, then gently bending it here and there. It wasn’t hard, just time intesive. The overlap part will be a bitch, but the only thing i can suggest is to do it by hand. Perhaps lay out four or five leaves in the proper order and then copy that, move it into place, etc. That’s how I’d tackle that problem.
