Leather Material - without using texture image

Is there a way to model good looking brown leather strap of a watch?

I tried a lot but the specular is wrong plus am not able to figure out how to correctly use noice or wave or any other texture as bump maps

Please help

This one just uses procedural textures http://matrep.parastudios.de/index.php?action=view&material=274-leather. You may have to just tweak some of the settings for the current version of blender

How do you render this sample blend file? No Camera and no light. Adding the two also doesn’t help

It’s hard to get something good looking without textures, even if they’re just to define where wear and tear is on the watch band. Procedurals also take MUCH longer than textures to render. Is there a reason you’re avoiding image textures?

Concerning how-to: you append material from the file you downloaded, then assign it to your model.
