I’m currently following this → TUTORIAL to learn rigging, and everything is working so far, but now i have a problem. I have rerolled the bones like shown in the guide, and they’re facing and following the pole, but if i try to bend them with the feet controller, they’ll bend to the side instead of towards the controller like pic related. What am i doing wrong?
Hello and welcome aboard!
Try adjusting the pole angle in the IK constraint
about 8 mins in the video.
Didn’t watch the whole video, just scrubbed thru, so maybe I’m missing something, but that should fix you up.

Hi, at 5.57 he explains that problem.
You need to recalculate the bone roll.
Post up the file. Since you are new here, you probably can’t attach a file to the post, so use a file host service and post the link.
Probably want to set the foot bone to not inherit rotation of the shin.L.ik bone. It should probably be constrained to copy the rotation of the FOOT.ik bone.

As i said in the first post, I have rerolled the bones like shown. The bone are pointing towards the pole. The problem is the bending to the side when moving the controller.
Set your IK constraint pole angle to 66. Select the ‘feet.L.ik’ bone and in the bone properties - > Relations panel, un-check the Inherit Rotation option. Now add a copy rotation constraint to the ‘feet.L.ik’ bone targeting the ‘FOOT-IK’ bone and set the Mix value to ‘Add’ and see how that works for you.
