Lennys Love Nest **( update>2< )

Here’s my WC entry,…not very far along, but it has taken me this long to get the lighting to where it is using Yafray. I plan on adding a few things depending on how fast it goes.
<edit> btw it’s supposed to be like a dating service, but I’m contemplating lowering the lighting and making it into a cheap hotel instead.

Looks cool. Very lovely! :slight_smile: Somehow blurry, though.

Thanks,…here is where I’m at with it now,…I still don’t know how to use Yafray very well,…sigh. btw the chair/phone/lamp are from the 3D cafe, allthough I did the materials, and the other stuff. The desk texture was actually made in Blender as a procedural, then exported as an image, and loaded as an image texture. Any hints from anyone who knows how to use Yafray would be welcome. Anyway, it seems to be looking slightly better I think.

Ok, here is my latest feeble attempt at Yafray,…any crits? Does anyone know how I can beat down those weird circular shadows?

In think I saw a ceiling. have you tried to remove the ceiling and then do a render? your using skydome at low resolution I believe? is the wall a straight plane? if you are still getting bad results in an interior but like skydome open up you xml file in a text editor and drop down to the bottom of the file. you will find a line <light type=“hemilight” name=“hemi_LT” power=“1.0” samples=“128” >
</light>
best in blender is 128 you can crank that up a lot higher (for longer renders)

not that I have figured out the “full” or pathlight and photon light but I know it is good for interiors check out the yafray web page http://www.coala.uniovi.es/wiki/index.php/YafrayGlobalPhotonLight
that’s the best I can do right now.

Thanks val, that is very helpful,…and yes there is a ceiling. I couldn’t see a way around it since I am using radiosity. I tried full method too, but I think I added too many photons, because my scene came out almost solid white.

yah,
I got that too. Do you have lamps in your scene? I saw one. remove them (put them on a unseen layer) and crank up you background light. You need an open window somewhere to let the light in and bounce about. now I really am tapped out.
