Lens Flares BGE/UPBGE

So I’ve saw the ThaTimst3r tutorial and also the red frost games tutorial, but I wans’t able to make the Lens Flare work, I don’t know why. The cone (for exemple) keeps rotating while I change the camera position but with the texture not facing the camera.

I also saw the martins upitis lens flare demo, but it takes the use of script and I would like it if was possible for doing it without scripts, like the other two video tutorials I just mentioned.

here my blend file:

lens_flare.blend (505 KB)

The orientation in edit mode is important rather than the world orientation. You need to rotate it so that the cone faces along the local y axis.
I can’t upload files (I’ve been having problems with BA for a day or two), otherwise I would upload a fixed version.

Your axis is wrong on the flare in your blend. I fixed it by rotating the mesh -90 degrees along the z axis.

Fixed blend is attached.

Thanks both of you, I missed this part wich need to rotate while in edit mode, I thought It needed to do it while in object mode. I thought the 3D cursor on the vertice was just for edit the origin point.

thanks for the fixed version and for the reply

If I can ask quickly, to make a similar effect to the martins upitis one:

I could just put, well, some kind of “flare layers”? For exemple: https://static.brusheezy.com/system/resources/previews/000/020/619/non_2x/lens-flare-psd-pack-photoshop-psds.jpg
mixed with this :

It only need to put one in front of the other?

Edit: here the blend file updated with this idea:

lens_flare1.blend (525 KB)

Thanks again for the help

I think this is the one you need

Yes, yeah. That’s what I am looking for.

But if I want to import to another scene, it’ll need to change something on the scripts or It just need to import the logic bricks and the camera?

This blend file has some really nice effects that I would like to use on a project, the only part that gets me are the scripts

Thanks again
