Let's Go Bowl🎳(WIP)

This all started with a phone wallpaper, my sisters to be exact. I saw it and I was like “I can do that” with the help of my guys at blenderartists and blender stack. I started the modelling, got reference pics of bowling pins and bowls. It’s not perfect but it was fun making. Then came the problem of shading. I have been using blender for just 4Months so I’m kinda a beginner intermidate.

hello,
i only consider myself a super beginner (I’m only half way through donut and have 2 other projects in progress with the help of YouTube tutorials) but i might (?) have some suggestions:

  1. decrease the roughness of the pins
  2. increase the power of light (cuz the reference pic seems more bright)
  3. play around with the metallic thing/the subsurface thing in materials so that it reflects light and stuff
I’m really not sure if it helps with your project, as I am a total beginner, but with the knowledge I have now, that’s what I got. I hope they might hopefully help you in some way!
anyways, your project really looks very nice (it’s very realistic and attractive!) and I can’t wait until it’s finished, hope you’ll post it on when it’s finished!
