Do you know the reason why light and camera shown weird? Im using Manjaro Linux and downloaded Blender v3.5 from Flatpak.

Maybe gfx driver, try update to the latest.

All I can say is try to download some old version of a Blender (3.1-3.4) and check if that problem will appear from there…

Thanks for reply. I reinstalled the OS. In linux, it is a real pain to tussle with graphics driver. But again same issue.

I could be a flatpack build problem, I am on linux and download the portable versions I have never seen anything like that. The portable versions work fine.

We agree that this is the default scene and you’ve done nothing particular ?

It’s weird that it append only for these items, just for having fun, can you try adding an empty to see if they draw correctly ?

What is your graphic card ?

Try to download from there : https://www.blender.org/download/
Unzip the file and run the app , as @DNorman suggested !

I downloaded both 3.5.0(on the left) 3.3.5(on the right)

3.3.5 seems works fine. So i think it is not about gfx card. Weird.

Unfortunately the GT540m is a pretty old card (2011) so that could have something to do with it.

Maybe it’s better to avoid working with it, but …

Basically it looks like a bug related to your graphic card, if your drivers are new it’s very likely that it comes from blender.

3 possibilities :

1/ it’s already fixed, downloading 3.6 (WIP) will answer that.

2/ your graphic card is going EOL, if it’s an old model it might be that blender doesn’t support it anymore, in that case we can’t do nothing.

3/ It’s just that the bug hasn’t been reported yet, in that case we can guide you for that if needed !

3.6 is same as 3.5

And another interesting detail is the app icons. If you look at the app icons you can see 3.3.5 is shown right but others not.

Anyway @sozap may be you re right. The laptop that i have issue with is quite old. Asus 53sv.

Using 3.3.5 is not the end of world for me. Thanks for all your help.

Edit : only 3.6 icon is wrong

Ok, the icon I don’t think it’s related !

You can always try to open 3.5 or 3.6 (even better) and do menu help → report a bug !
From there you’ll probably need to create an account , and complete the instructions.

and eventually add a screen capture that shows the problem !

Unless someone can confirm that your card is outdated, in case it’s not that might help people with the same problems !

There’s a list of supported graphics cards here:

I know most of the minimum requirements increased slightly for the 3.5 release
